DJ Divine has been a club/mobile DJ in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for more than 20 years. At the early age of fourteen Divine began playing for private and neighborhood parties, honing his mixing skills, and creating mix tapes to perfect his craft.
DJ Divine's first opportunity at a club venue was at the Eastside nightclub which was one of the hottest clubs in the area during the late 80's and early 90's. The Eastside featured the legendary DJ Kool (The music ain’t loud enough), DJ Flex now of WPGC and DJ Trini now with WKYS and DJ Renegade (Spoken word Slam artist). Playing every genre of music from Hip-Hop, old school R&B, Reggae, Go-Go and House.
Around 1994 Divine created Eargasm Productions with the help of his best friend DJ Reggie B. and DJ Papito (Luis) now owner of Paradise racing.We began our DJ Company to provide our services to Washington D.C.'s most affluent clientele. Some of our clients include the Washington Bar Association, First Fridays DC, The Inner Caucus/WHUR 96.3, and Greek fraternity and sororities. With events ranging from reunions, step shows and bowling parties.
DJ Divine has performed at some of the most popular nightclubs in the city like Mirrors,Bohemian Caverns, Republic Gardens, Zanzibar, H2O and Fur. Divine has also been a guest DJ on XM Radio Channel 80 the Move for the underground house mix show. DJ Divine is currently working on the development of the internet based Soul Stew Radio and is scheduled to launch sometime in the winter of 2005/2006. In the middle part of 1999 Divine collaborated with DJ Curtis Lee in some production work for house remixes and tracks. He also played with Curtis at the now defunct State of the Union on Friday nights. From that collaboration we became Soul Stew. Soul Stew is our trade name for music production work and our latest venture Soul Stew Radio. Sunday afternoon catch DJ Divine and DJ Bill Source at Bohemian Caverns for Daylight providing D.C., MD, and VA with the best in R&B dance classics, Old school house, and old school hip hop.
Currently DJ Divine works as a production engineer for a radio broadcast facility where he puts his talents to work in producing,directing radio programs,and video productions.
